We are looking for a scientist to join a team that will look to develop platform processes for cell based product manufacture (done by the team and/or at 3rd party) to enable cell & gene therapy delivery from clinical development through to commercialisation.

 

Key Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of cell process development and theoretical and/or practical knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and analytical methods
  • Understanding of risk-based approaches to process development and scale-up, incl. project strategy and risk, QbD etc.
  • Understanding of critical process parameters (CPP), critical quality attributes (CQA), comparability etc. relating to the cell process.

Job Description

Quell is looking for an Accountant to carry out our company book-keeping and reporting, as well as supporting the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and the analysis of business performance.

The role is part time, initially for somewhere between 12 -18 hours per week, but with the potential to increase over the next 2-3 years. There is some flexibility around hours of work, but we would expect the time to be split over 3 to 4 days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilties
  • Manage supplier invoice processing, review and authorisation and reconciliation to procurement system.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc sales invoices
  • Preparation of suggested suppler payment runs and completion of bank account reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of indirect tax returns
  • Review and reconciliation of employee expense reports, including reconciliation of company credit card statements
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register
  • Preparation of month end journals for payroll, accrual and prepayments, depreciation etc.
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules
  • Support year end reporting and audit processes and preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack and business variance analysis and rolling forecast update.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, business plan updates and provide analysis to support management decision making
  • Assist in the development of the company finance system (Oracle Netsuite)
  • Act as administrator for corporate business support systems (Expensify, Amici procurement, Neo1 travel etc.)

Quell is looking for an outstanding Clinical Operations professional to lead the set-up, development and management of Quell’s Clinical Operations infrastructure. Key Responsibilties
  • Establish fit-for-purpose Clinical Operations infrastructure incorporating best practice policies and procedures
  • Develop Clinical Plans for Quell’s candidate products, with associated resource requirements (budgets and personnel) and timelines
  • Key contributor to the Global Clinical Operations strategy
  • Recruit, manage, motivate and retain Clinical Operations team

Desired Skills, Experience and Attributes
  • 10 years’ plus experience in Clinical Operations including significant time spent in Pharma/Biotech (experience in multiple geographies an advantage)
  • Scientific qualification – minimum bachelor’s degree (post graduate qualification preferred)
  • Experience leading the management of clinical studies with cell/gene therapies or in transplant, autoimmune diseases.
  • Experience of working with Contract Research Organisations and other vendors including selection, contracting and oversight
  • Involvement in designing clinical development programmes, including forecasting budget and headcount.
  • Thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practice and regulatory aspects of clinical trials

Key Responsibilities
  • Design complex molecular and cell-based experiments to evaluate the regulatory capacities of Tregs in different immune conditions.
  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo experimentation aimed at understanding clinical observations with Treg therapies in various transplant and autoimmune conditions.
  • Design, execute and analyse molecular, cellular and immunological assays to investigate immune mechanisms and validate novel engineered Treg strategies.
  • Ensure reports and appropriate documentation are written to required standards to support assay validation and verification.
  • Work independently as well as co-operatively as part of a team to drive projects to key milestones.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge and experience with handling T cells
  • Proficiency in cell-based techniques and functional assays, including flow cytometry, isolation and characterization of cell subpopulations, ELISA/ELISpot, cell proliferation and killing assays
  • A good understanding of molecular biology with expertise in extraction and preparation of nucleic acids, PCR, cell transfections and transductions
  • Demonstrated creativity and application of innovative strategies to solve scientific problems; ability to interpret, troubleshoot and report complex data
