We are looking for a scientist to join a team that will look to develop platform processes for cell based product manufacture (done by the team and/or at 3rd party) to enable cell & gene therapy delivery from clinical development through to commercialisation.

 

Key Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of cell process development and theoretical and/or practical knowledge of typical manufacturing processes and analytical methods
  • Understanding of risk-based approaches to process development and scale-up, incl. project strategy and risk, QbD etc.
  • Understanding of critical process parameters (CPP), critical quality attributes (CQA), comparability etc. relating to the cell process.
  • Personal attributes including resilience, ability to work under pressure, time management and pro-active communication are all pre-requisites of the role.

 

Ability to:
  • Assess, communicate and manage risks
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team, considering impact of process changes on other areas
  • Manage timelines to achieve project milestones

Job Description

The Operations Manager is accountable for the setting up and effective running of Quell’s daily operations in its manufacturing facility. Other initial key aspects are also the integration of Quell into the existing site operations and the set-up of the company’s local manufacturing hub. This role will initially report to the VP Product Delivery.

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with significant project management/scheduling experience and an understanding of cell therapy production. He/She should also have a good understanding of the logistical aspects of setting up a new production environment for Ph1/2 clinical manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and oversight of key activities to fully integrate Quell’s operations into the existing site set-up
  • Planning and scheduling of Quell’s manufacturing operations in close collaboration with the Head of Cell Processing and other key leaders
  • Liaison with existing manufacturing centre departments to ensure full alignment between Quell’s plans and the centre’s operations and support structure

Quell is looking for an Accountant to carry out our company book-keeping and reporting, as well as supporting the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and the analysis of business performance.

The role is part time, initially for somewhere between 12 -18 hours per week, but with the potential to increase over the next 2-3 years. There is some flexibility around hours of work, but we would expect the time to be split over 3 to 4 days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilties
  • Manage supplier invoice processing, review and authorisation and reconciliation to procurement system.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc sales invoices
  • Preparation of suggested suppler payment runs and completion of bank account reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of indirect tax returns
  • Review and reconciliation of employee expense reports, including reconciliation of company credit card statements
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register
  • Preparation of month end journals for payroll, accrual and prepayments, depreciation etc.
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules
  • Support year end reporting and audit processes and preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack and business variance analysis and rolling forecast update.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, business plan updates and provide analysis to support management decision making
  • Assist in the development of the company finance system (Oracle Netsuite)
  • Act as administrator for corporate business support systems (Expensify, Amici procurement, Neo1 travel etc.)
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Commercial business book-keeper/accountant with SME experience – preferably AAT qualified
  • Experience using mid-level SME financial systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to track, prioritise and carry out multiple tasks in parallel
  • Organisational and planning skills are essential
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Familiar with a range of immunological cell-based techniques and tests, e.g. Flow Cytometry, ELISA, qPCR

Job Description

The (Associate) Director, Analytical is accountable for the development of analytical methods to support process development and enable QC release testing of Quell’s products. This role will report to the VP Product Delivery.

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with significant analytical development and/or QC experience in cell & gene therapy. They should also have a solid understanding of the cross-functional CMC requirements to develop and manufacture new cell & gene therapy products as well as demonstrated innovative thinking and milestone delivery in this space.

The (Associate) Director, Analytical will be responsible for leading, developing and growing the Analytical Group and will be a member of the Product Delivery Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership of the analytical group with responsibility for the development of an analytical platform to support process/product development and provide initial QC release testing of clinical trial material across Quell’s product portfolio
  • Development of relevant technology platform solutions (e.g. PAT) in partnership with third parties
  • Development and execution of a sound strategy to develop and grow the analytical group in line with the company’s business plan
  • Close collaboration with other teams to ensure process development and manufacturing strategies, targets and ways of working are fully aligned
  • Visible and credible external engagement (incl. academic groups, CMOs etc.) to support company deliverables
  • Oversee and manage the release testing of vectors and plasmids through close collaboration with our CMOs
  • Technical leadership and input to the regulatory strategy regarding analytical method development and QC release
  • Technical review of regulatory documentation (INDs, IMPDs etc.) and participation in engagement with regulatory bodies such as the EMEA and FDA.
