The Company was founded with initial series A financing, led by Syncona Ltd who committed £34M with a further £1M contributed by UCL Technology Fund.

 

THE ROLE
Senior Scientist – Translational

Quell therapeutics is seeking to expand our Translational and product knowledge team by recruiting a Senior Scientist with experience running an immunomonitoring programme for a clinical trial. Expertise in Treg Immunology and CAR T technology is a plus. The successful candidate will have a passion for driving high-impact projects focused on the development of novel immune-therapeutics. The successful candidate will effectively and routinely collaborate with colleagues on different projects and regularly present scientific results to multidisciplinary teams and leadership at Quell therapeutics.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage, mentor, and train a group of Research Associates and Scientists
  • Manage and coordinate all the work involved in the immunomonitoring program of the clinical trial
  • Manage and coordinate all the work involved in preparing and qualifying the immunomonitoring assays
  • Data supervision, collection and analysis
  • Generate presentations and communicate effectively the immunomonitoring data
  • Manage the relations with CRO’s
  • Manage and implement various projects collaborating with other departments
  • Manage and support external collaborations as a subject matter expert in immunology
  • Contribute to the external scientific visibility of the company through collaboration with industry partners

 

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Previous people supervisory or management experience
  • Extensive experience on immunomonitoring tools in a clinical trial setting
  • Extensive experience working with clinical samples
  • Extensive experience in T-Cell/ T-Reg and immunoassays optimisation
  • Characterization of immune cell populations using flow cytometry and molecular biology tools
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team; manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse and present data
  • Contribute to a culture that embraces scientific excellence, integrity, urgency, patient centricity, and continuous improvement
  • Post doc/ Post PhD industry experience

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
  • PhD in Immunology or related subject
  • At least 5years direct industry experience in Treg-cell biology or equivalent experience
  • Experience in immune monitoring of clinical trials and biomarker discovery
  • Deep knowledge of principles of Treg immunology and broad knowledge of current concepts in CAR technology
  • Management experience
  • Expertise in the culture of primary human cells and methods such as multi-colour flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot. TCR and RNA single cell sequencing as a plus
